How to Use GiliSoft Video Editor Pro — Step‑by‑Step Guide

1) Install & open

  1. Download from the official GiliSoft site and run the installer.
  2. Launch the app; choose the module you need (Easy Cutter, Batch Cutter, Advanced Cutter, Joiner, Splitter, Effects, Watermark, Subtitle, etc.).

2) Import media

  • Click Add File(s) or drag-and-drop video/audio files into the project area.

3) Trim / cut (Easy Cutter or Advanced Cutter)

  1. Open the Cutter tool.
  2. Set start/end points by dragging the timeline handles or entering times.
  3. For Advanced Cutter: use frame-accurate trimming, add/remove segments, preview changes.
  4. Click Start or Cut to export clipped segments (choose re-encode or keep original format).

4) Split or batch-cut

  • Splitter: choose split by time, size, or custom points → click SplitStart.
  • Batch Cutter: load multiple files, set a common trim, run batch processing.

5) Join / merge

  1. Open Joiner.
  2. Add files and arrange order (up/down).
  3. Choose output format and whether to join without re-encoding.
  4. Optionally enable fade in/out. Click Start.

6) Crop / rotate / resize

  • Open Crop or Rotation tools, set crop box or rotation degree (90/180/270), preview, then Start.

7) Add effects & adjust image

  1. Open Effects.
  2. Adjust Brightness, Contrast, Saturation; apply filters (Black & White, Old Film, Mosaic, Oil Painting, Motion Blur, etc.).
  3. Preview and confirm, then Start.

8) Add audio / remove audio / change speed

  • Add Music: click Load Music, position/trim track, set volume; export.
  • Remove Audio: set Audio Channel → MuteStart.
  • Speed: set playback speed (e.g., 0.1x–5x) in Effects or Speed tool → Start.

9) Add watermark, picture-in-picture, subtitles

  • Watermark: choose text/picture/video/GIF, set position/time range, apply to whole video or segment → Start.
  • Picture-in-picture: add overlay video and position/resize in timeline.
  • Subtitles: load .srt/.ass, set font/size/position/encoding, preview burn-in → Start.

10) Export settings

  1. Choose Output Format or leave “original” to avoid re-encoding.
  2. Adjust Output Settings: resolution, bitrate, codec, frame rate as needed.
  3. Click Start to process; use Open Output when finished.

11) Tips & best practices

  • To avoid quality loss, join/split/cut “without re-encoding” when formats/codecs match.
  • Use force re-encoding for precise frame-accurate splits.
  • Preview before exporting to confirm effects, subtitles, and audio sync.
